A dining table is the focal point for the most precious moments of the day when people closest to us gather or when we take time for ourselves. It is a sustainable piece of furniture, which, apart from its obvious purpose, inspires in other ways as well. The table is a product designed in the APPLAUSE project, in which the experts in carpentry and local community of The City Municipality of Ljubljana co-work in order to solve the issue of invasive alien plants that negatively affect the native flora’s growth space. Making the dining table from invasive alien plant wood helps preserving diversity and growth of native plants in their natural environment.
The dining table has four beams, which are attached to the legs with treenails and cam locks under the table surface. Its dimensions are 77 x 121 x 72 cm.
