If you do not wish to own a plastic or a chopped down tree, a wooden New Year tree is the right answer for you. Simply put together, natural and sustainable, it will bring joy and happiness to your home for many years to come. Made of invasive alien plants, it has already done a good deed in terms of helping preserving native plants.
The wooden New Year tree is designed in the APPLAUSE project, in which the experts in carpentry and local community of The City Municipality of Ljubljana collaborate in joined efforts to solve the issue of invasive alien plants that negatively affect the native flora. Making the product from the invasive alien plant wood helps preserving diversity and growth of native plants in their natural environment.
The wooden New Year tree comes with a cross-shaped wooden base and rough pole (20 mm in diameter) on which slats of different lengths (from 60 to 600 mmm) are placed on top of each other with spacers between each of the slats. The top of the tree is decorated with a wooden globe (40 mm in diameter). The tree is 90 cm tall and it can be easily dismantled as no parts are glued together.
